the mta which is the agency in san francisco responsible for implementing the city's transit first policy. in order to implement that policy, there's two key things we need, we need strong leadership and innovation and what we're seeing today is the manifestation of just that in san francisco. what we need to do as the government and the transportation agency is make sure there are good choices available to people in terms of how they get around san francisco. we want people to feel like they don't need to get in their car, they don't want to get in their car, maybe like supervisor chiu and i, they don't own a car because there are other good options for them to get around san francisco and there are ways they can get around that aren't going to clog our streets with traffic or fill our air with pollution, and i think scoot represents just one of those options and we're very happy to welcome them to san francisco, we're happy to do our small part in facilitating their launch here, i want to thank our director of off street parking manages all the mta parking garages and lots, we want to b

i think we need to double down on being a transit-first city, which means improving muni, so it's a viable transit option for everybody. i agree with increasing bike access and even experting with sunday streets, which is closing off a lot of your streets to car traffic. i think it's a great model, but i also think we have to do the simple things like fix the roads and sidewalks. there are a lot of places in district 5 where the sidewalks are in disrepair. i have had several friends who have tripped and fallen, but really who that impacts the most are the elderly and the disabled, who have a hard enough time getting around, let alone if the sidewalk is messed up. transit issues are important and i would like to see those things worked on and that is what i will do as supervisor. >> miss olague? >> as supervisor i have been working on many issues, so it's really difficult for me to prioritize any one set of issues. so we have been prioritizing transit issues and affordable housing issues. and the rest of it, but right now i believe the city is really challenged with issues dealing with equi

for the first time in years we have had a lot of unity to account for and to move our city forward. business and labor, the mayor, and the board of supervisors, we have all been coming together on issues that affect all of us, tax reform, housing, fixing our parks and open space, fixing our streets. this year we have come together in an unprecedented way to put these issues to the ballot, because we agree it's the right time for smart and long-term investment in our city and in housing and in parks and in tax reform. together we're putting people back to work and building our city at the same time. now it's time to reform our tax structure. a lot of people ask me, well, mayor, what is this business tax reform? what is it all about? it's very complicated. well, i will tell them it's about real people, about business, and about real jobs. because it's now that we're the only city in the state of california that has a payroll tax, literally a tax on job-creation. it doesn't make sense. so i'm happy to report that we at last are reforming our business tax structure to stop taxing jobs.
